Text on-screen: How do you tailor PL to meet the diverse needs and contexts of participants?
Mary Childrey, Program Supervisor at the Merced County Office of Education: Well, we really think about the demographics that are invited and who has registered for the trainings. And then because family child care, they have the whole prefra from zero to 12, and how they can make that work in their environments. And even in a preschool site, they may have children who are three up to five, and that's a big age range too. So any activity that we did, we would have a reflection piece to think about, now how can you use this with your children? Tell us what the ages that you have, the developmental ages that you have in your programs. How might you adapt it for a child that's younger versus a child that's older? Or if you have a child that may have a disability, how are you going to make this work for that child? So there was always that brainstorming piece towards the end, that they could plan and sort out how that activity may work in their respective programs.
