Educator: And you are the oldest now. Brother, baby brother, baby sister, and you. How many are in the family?

On screen: The educator holds up one finger for each family member they list.

Ezra: I have four babies.

On screen: Ezra holds up four fingers.

Educator: Four babies? Okay, tell me the name of your babies.

On screen: The educator makes a fist and raises one finger for each name the child recites

Ezra: I have Enoch, and Ezekiel, and Eli, and Elijah.

Educator: Elijah, oh. And you are right, those are four. And if you count yourself, how many children are in the family?

On screen: The educator points to their thumb that is tucked down and then raises it so all five fingers are held up.

Child 1: Five.

On screen: The educator turns to face the child to their left.

Educator: Five. You know also, Sol has a sister, right Sol? In her family, is only Sol. And how many children in the family?

On screen: The educator holds up one finger for each person.

Ezra: Two.

Educator: And Sol, but who is in your family? It’s Luna, Sol, and who else?

On screen: The educator holds up two fingers.

Sol: Nina.

Educator: Nina, abuelita? Yes.

On screen: The educator raises a third finger.

Educator: And who else is in your family?

Sol: My mama.

Educator: Tu mommy?

On screen: The educator raises another finger. In the next scene, the educator is holding all five fingers up. Sol points to each one while counting.

Sol: One, two, three, four, five.

Educator: You have five, yes.
